Put her on her toes to get that water in the intake boot ou, as well has kick it over. So when I took the carb off, I broke a T connector and that got me rethinking the way I rerouted the hoses so just wanted to confirm, and it was routed correctly.Ĭrossed the water below, well to the middle, then pulled it back ? Those submerged boulders were bigger than I remembered! Glad I brought my basic tool kit with me or else I'd be pushing then calling a friend with trailer. Went through clean runoff water and just stalled. I sucked in water this weekend, not from the vents but from the airbox. Im suspecting the dirtbike fires have something to do with routung it near the engine so i steer clear from above the engine. Yup, dont want to route into airbox, or above the engine. It will eventual go back into the system if its not too much leaking. I read about the bowl overflow one with people routing it up and around the carb and back down so that the gas wont be wasted. I will need to cut the ones going down at an angle. Gotcha! Thanks for chiming in, always good info. Just gotta keep moving in the deep stuff.:grin2:

I still use stock hose routing and regularly ride 12 to 20 inches of water with no issues. I used the stock vents as I described earlier in post and rode many hundreds of off road swampy/wet miles without any issues. PC1 made a slick waterproofing kit for carburetor vent hoses at one point. eBay has a bunch of Chinese vent hose kits if you like.

PC1 makes a slick carb vent hose kit in multiple designer colors for the fashion conscious rider. The single small tube on bowl is the most critical location as it has to vent down or it can cause trouble if float sticks or drips, the leaking fuel can leak into motor and airbox:surprise: hose ends are usually slash cut to prevent dirt and mud build up plugging hoses at open end. The 2 forward (vertical)hoses can be teed together as shown as long as the tee is vented to atomisphere (open) the rear 2 bowl (horizontal)vents go down behind motor. Hey I just wanted to pop back in on this post and make a suggestion for you.
